Drawing II final.

We had to write a story, switch stories with someone else in the class, and draw the story we had just received.

The story i got is from

The scene is set in a Hub-like cafeteria (the Hub is SCAD’s cafeteria). A girl in the close midground is dropping her tray, it is in mid drop and some things have already hit the ground such as a glass and her plate. She is of middle height and about 18 years old. She is wearing her hair in a ponytail, and has on a t-shirt and faded jeans. She has obvious paint and charcoal blotches on her clothing. She has a seriously overfilled backpack, bulging at the seems with supplies and books sticking out. Her expression is one of surprise and horror as she realizes she is about to attract the attention of everyone in the room. She is jumping away to avoid the splatter of food, silverware and other objects flying everywhere. Off to the viewer’s left in the scene is a long line of people waiting to pay for food. Unlike the hub you can see the full serving area and there is no dividing wall. There are a few floating island stations with different cold and warm foods. Students a faculty are moving about lookig at and picking up different dishes. A few cafeteria workers stand behind heating trays manning a grill station while others are around in case people need help. A larger woman is manning the cashier’s desk. Most of the line is already turning to look in the direction of the commotion. Behind the girl a few people are bustling around in the empty space between the serving area and the tables. To the viewer right there are tables arrayed throughout the room. In the foreground is a tour group coming through room. The viewer is positioned as if they are a member of the tour group. It is made of parents and high school students. There are many different types of people of many different races and dress. In front of the viewer an older man, probably a parent is looking back at the viewer with a surprised snicker as if he sees some strange humor in the poor girl’s predicament. He is missing a few teeth and does not exactly seem the kindest sort. He is bald but does have a very noticeable and unique moustache. As only his head is turned you see a logo printed on the back of his shirt and you can also see a few tattoos on his arm as he has cut the sleeves from his shirt. He is holding his son back who is trying to go and help. A few kinder members of the group have started to go ahead to help the girl. One is a younger man probably around 16 or 17. He is wearing a dark button down shirt, unbuttoned with a white t-shirt underneath. He has mid value earth tone pants on, not exactly dressed up but looking professional. An older woman has also gone to help. She is wearing a long skirt and a jacket, though based on the dress of the others in the scene it is probably warm out. The cafeteria itself is a bit nicer than the hub. The tables are arrayed in a very coffee house layout with no real grid or system to be seen. Some tables even have some nicer armchairs and such. But most have fairly standard cafeteria seating. The room is well lit with a few dark areas. The light coming in from the windows is fairly bright indicating that it is probably around 5 or 6 o’clock and the sun is shining right into the room.
